Description:

Bright orange to red-orange parasite may completely cover fruiting bodies of various Russula and Lactarius species; sometimes white patches present, surface roughened; deforms cap, gills, and stalk of host (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Where to find:

Habitat: Hardwoods or conifers wherever hosts are present.
