Status:

White Clover is native to Eurasia and North Africa, but has been introduced nearly worldwide. White Clover can be abundant in any open habitat throughout the state.

Where to find:

White Clover can be very common in lawns, roadsides, and open areas.

Relationships:

Host plant for the butterfly Eastern Tailed-Blue.

Host plant for various moth species including Black-marked Ancylis Moth (Gilligan, Wright, & Gibson, 2008).

Larvae of the moths Porphyrosela minuta and Liriomyza fricki make distinctive leaf mines on foliage.
