According to Maryland DNR, summer roosts include buildings, under bridges, hollow trees, beneath loose bark, behind shutters. Winter roosts include buildings, caves, and mines.
Calls are very similar to Silver-haired Bat and should be reviewed by an expert to verify identification. That said, Silver-haired Bat is not typically found in Maryland in summer.
Has been documented hosting Eastern Bat Bug in Maryland. Host to the flea Nycteridopsylla chapini, which was described from Maryland (Eckerlin, 2011).
