Status:

Tundra Swans nest in the arctic and winter along the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. They are common in winter and migration, and can be locally abundant.

Where to find:

Eastern Neck NWR is an important wintering location and the species is easily found there in winter.

This bird was banded at coordinates: 67.05, -162.56, and was seen on multiple occasions around Jug Bay in Maryland the winter of 2008-09, apparently one of the longest distances documented for Whistling Swan!
