A female Fall Field Cricket in Prince George's Co., Maryland (10/26/2014). Notes from the photographer: "I ruled out G. firmus because it is noted that its ovipositor usually exceeds the body length, whereas those of both G. pennsylvanicus (Fall Field Cricket) and G. veletis (Spring Field Cricket) tend to be shorter, and as this is not mid-summer when adults of the two remaining possibilities might co-occur, but October, I'm ruling out G. veletis... found in sandy low gradient riparian meadow adjacent to the Anacostia River" Photo by David Hilmy.
