Status:

Maryland has two accepted records of this impressive beast of the High Arctic, the world's largest falcon. The first was an immature (SY) gray-morph bird that apparently lingered in the vicinity of New Design Road, Frederick County, for nearly a month in February and March 1994. It was accepted as MD/DCRC #1995-017. A gray-morph adult was found near Gambrills, Anne Arundel County, in January 2005 (#2005-016)
