Usually found in clusters or rows on dead hardwoods or conifers.
Fruiting body: Concentric bands of contrasting, varied colors; thin; velvety; fan-shaped. Pores: White, tiny.
Very similar False Turkey Tail feels "paper thin" and lacks pores. (J. Solem, pers. comm.) Unidentified Trametes can be posted at Trametes species.
