One of the most sought after fall migrants in Maryland is the Connecticut Warbler. This species seems to be uncommon throughout its range, an impression that's at least reinforced by its skulking habits. During its fall migration from the Boreal forest to northern South America, it can be found in low numbers in scrubby habitats throughout the state. Edges of fields and woodlands seem to be especially productive, and fondness for goldenrod and pokeweed have been noted. Fall migration in our area peaks in mid- to late September, with records continuing into early October. We have one incredible November record from Matt Hafner. Maryland eBird has no documented spring records, but we have read some compelling sight records.
There are 119 records in the project database.
