Found solitary or in clusters on or near decaying logs, stumps, mulch, wood chips, or debris.
Fruiting body: White to pink; egg-like when young giving rise to distinct head and stout stalk. Fertile surface: Bell-shaped with a wrinkled or pitted surface covered by slimy, foul-smelling, green-gray spore mass; white-rimmed opening at apex (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
