Status:

Found in solitary or overlapping clusters, mostly on dead hardwoods, but sometimes on pines.

Description:

Cap: Pinkish-orange, fading in age; densely fuzzy; convex, kidney-shaped to nearly flat; margin inrolled; flesh orange; foul odor. Gills: Yellow or orange, close. Stalk: None or very short; base white; flocculose (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
