Status:

Native to central and eastern Asia and now widespread in the eastern and central U.S. BugGuide cites the first U.S. record as Colorado in 1994 (BugGuide).

Relationships:

Uses elms as hosts. Documented as a vector of Ophiostoma novo-ulmi, the fungal source of Dutch Elm disease (BugGuide).
