Status:

Common names reflect unpleasant digestive reaction when eating this species and consuming alcohol.

Description:

Cap: white when young through gray/gray-brown to black in age (as it deliquesces); oval; striated; margin may be upturned in age. Gills: white, then gray, finally black; free; crowded. Stalk: white; silky (J. Solem, pers. comm.).

Where to find:

In grass or on wood at base of tree.
