Cap: Dingy yellow to salmon and cinnamon-brown; shiny when dry, sticky/slimy when wet; convex to nearly flat; thick flesh yellow to peachy/orange-buff. Pores: Yellow/dingy yellow/brown; initially covered by white veil. Stalk: Light-colored, covered with reddish/dark brown glandular dots/smears; thick, two-layered (white base), fleshy ring eventually turning black; peachy/salmon-orange flesh (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
Habitat: Scattered, groups under pines; often on sandy soil in moss (J. Solem, pers. comm.).
