Status:

Found solitary or ingroups; on moss and algae-covered wood or soil; hardwoods or mixed forests.

Description:

Cap: Yellow to brownish, pale and dark alternating shades; convex with sunken center (funnel-shaped in age); strongly ridged center to margin; margin scalloped. Smooth, moist. Gills: Pale yellow, decurrent, distant. Stalk: Reddish-brown to pale yellow/t5an; often tufted mycelium at base. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
