Rosellinia quercina requires microscopic or molecular confirmation for identification. Observations without microscopy are speculative. Most Rosellinia records can be found on the Rosellinia sp. page.
Tiny black balls (perithecia) in small fused mounds. R. quercina lacks a subiculum which separates it from R. subiculata.
Usually found in groups, mostly on young oak (Quercus) and young beech (Fagus) trees. (J. Solem, pers. comm.)
