Forms galls on veins of white oak (Quercus alba). "Spherical or ellipsoidal, naked and faceted to spiny, young galls light green, rose-tinted, becoming yellow or brown, spines when present purplish red, diameter 1/4 inch, two-celled. (BugGuide)
