According to MD DNR, there were a few collections of Button Eryngo along the Potomac River in Montgomery County in the early 1900's. These populations are considered native but unfortunately they have all disappeared and the plant is now considered extirpated in the state. There is a small population of Field Eryngo that have sprung up in the grasslands of Chino Farms in northern Queen Anne's County. This population is considered non-native and probably is a result of seeds mixed in with warm season grass seed mix.
There are 2 records in the project database.
