Status:

This rare visitor to our area breeds in Greenland, Iceland, and western Europe. Maryland has five records (Howard, Baltimore, Kent, Caroline, Dorchester), all since 2012. Records have become annual in the Mid-Atlantic and more Maryland records should be expected.
