Chinese Wisteria Wisteria sinensis (Sims) SweetNon-native  -  Invasive  

Status:

Unlike our native species, both invasive Wisteria species bloom in April before their leaves return. Chinese Wisteria coils clockwise around trees, while Japanese Wisteria coils counter-clockwise. Japanese Wisteria also has longer flower clusters.
