Widespread in North America, especially in the eastern U.S. Found in deciduous woods and woodland edges.
Note yellow patches on forewings, each with a pair of white spots.
Host plants include beech, chestnut, oak, alder, and birch, and possibly cherry, maple, plum, rose, shadbush, and willow (Miller et al., 2018).
