Status:

Hudsonian Whiteface (Leucorrhinia hudsonica), yet another whiteface species of northern affinity, is found only at high elevations in Maryland. This pretty skimmer prefers marshy, well-vegetated habitats, often boggy in nature (Paulson, 2011). In Maryland, Hudsonian is restricted to Garrett Co., where it is found in bogs ( (Richard Orr's The Dragonflies and Damselflies of Maryland and the District of Columbia). Maryland DNR ranks it as S1 (highly state rare).
