Status:

"Originally thought to be limited to the type locality in South Carolina, this small moth is now known to range up the coast to New Jersey" (Glaser, 2005).

Relationships:

"Like the other members of the genus, santerivalis in the larval stage probably feeds on marsh grasses" (Glaser, 2005).
