Scooped Scarab Onthophagus hecate hecate (Panzer, 1794)  Synonyms: Onthophagus hecate.

Status:

This small but distinctive scarab is widespread in the eastern and central U.S. It forages on dung and carrion.

Description:

Males have distinctive horn extending from the pronotum.
