Carolina Parakeet Conuropsis carolinensis (Linnaeus, 1758)Extinct  Synonyms: CAPA, Louisiana Parakeet.


The only parrot species endemic to the Eastern United States was extinct by 1918. The last known wild individual was killed in Florida in 1904. The last captive bird died in the Cincinnati Zoo in 1918.
