Status:

Maryland's most recent accepted record actually successfully wintered at Back River WWTP, Baltimore County. It was banded and well-documented from December 1977 to April 1978 (MD/DCRC #1987-001). The previous record was from a nursery in Montgomery County in 1954.

Description:

Note brownish cap, gray nape, brown back, and rufous flanks. Voice is distinctive.
