Native to southwestern Europe and adventive in the New World. Found in habitats such as gardens, grassy areas, and greenhouses. (BugGuide)

Description:

Note the incomplete ball when this species rolls up into its defensive posture. The closely related A. vulgare rolls into a tighter, complete ball.
