Pine Barren Tick-trefoil Desmodium strictum (Pursh) De CandolleEndangered (MD)  -  S1 (Highly state rare)  Synonyms: Meibomia stricta,  Pineland Tick-trefoil.

Status:

This species is diminishing due to habitat loss. Fire suppression may also play a role in this species rarity. The Anne arundel and Baltimore County population are considered extirpated (MD DNR).

Where to find:

Sandy roadsides, forest edges of sand ridges, sandy fields (MD DNR).
