Red Squirrel Tamiasciurus hudsonicus (Erxleben, 1777)Synonyms: American Red Squirrel,  Chickaree,  Fairydiddle,  Pine Squirrel.

Status:

Primarily found in western Maryland, especially Garrett County. Records away from western Maryland are mostly historical, but we've received documented reports in Baltimore County in 2016. This species is typically found in habitats with abundant conifers.
