Field Trip to Coastal Maryland!

** This event is fully booked! **

It’s time to announce the first MBP field trip of 2024! On Saturday, February 10th Jim Brighton will lead a field trip to coastal Maryland. This will be a biodiversity themed trip, but we will be concentrating on winter bird specialties. We will visit places like the Ocean City Inlet and similar areas in search of birds and other interesting creatures and plants. There is a chance we might dip up into Delaware if any rare birds are lingering in the Indian River Inlet, Rehobeth Beach, or Lewes areas. This decision will be made the week before.

It is going to be COLD and the wind will inevitably be blowing hard. Please dress accordingly. If the weather turns towards rain, snow, or dangerously cold, the trip will be canceled and it will not be rescheduled.

There will be plenty of bathroom breaks, and we will make a convenience store stop for those who don’t want to pack a lunch. At the end of the day, there will be a scheduled early dinner for those who would enjoy food and libations. Dinner location to be determined. MBP will not be picking up the dinner tab (It’s been asked :)).

We will meet at the West Ocean City Park-n-Ride (38.333012, -75.104171) at 9 am. CARPOOLING IS A MUST. This will be an all-day trip with a dinner near wherever the trip ends. This could be in the OC/Berlin area, or the Rehobeth Beach area. Please keep this in mind when signing up.

This trip will be limited to 15 people.
